Amanda Zackem is a Director and Cinematographer who uses film as a tool to explore consciousness, truth and justice in this experience we call life.
Her most recent documentary, American Psychosis, is based off an interview with Pulitzer Prize winning Journalist, Author and Activist Chris Hedges, discusses consumerism, totalitarian corporate power and living in a world dominated by pervasive illusion. It has screened in film festivals worldwide and was a nominee for Best Short Documentary of 2018 on Vimeo.
Amanda is a Co-founder and Executive Director of the film based non-profit, American Canary and was chosen as a 2018 Blue Mountain Center Artist in Residence as well as a Centrum Artist in Residence. She holds a Bachelors’ degree from Ithaca College and a Master's Degree from The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
